We are striving towards establishing the house of Allah - Masjid Abubakar Asiddiq. The vision to establish this Masjid started five years ago driven by the overwhelming need for a place of prayer for the mostly immigrant community living on the South West side of Columbus.



We started out by remodeling and renting out 6,000 Sq. ft of prayer space and signed a 5 yrs lease. Around 600 people pray on Fridays at this facility and almost 250 children attend the after school and weekend Quranic classes. The lease for this property ends in December 2009. We had lots of problems with landlord and we know they are not renewing the lease for us when it expires. (See Attached letter from Islamic Society of Greater Columbus).

AlhamduLillah, Allah (SWT) blessed us to purchase 10 acres of land for about $300,000 in August, 2007. We are currently working on phase 2, which requires about $2,350,663.00. We raised almost $500,000 (including pledges) towards this phase up to now. We signed contract with Maverick Builders. INC company to build this masjid, on June 26, 2009, and we did groundbreaking on Friday July 10, 2009
